Ani Schulze: Ancient Circuits

Ani Schulze is planning an installation entitled ‘Ancient Circuits’. For this installation, she will produce a series of large-scale drawings, collages and sculptures, as well as a video piece. In particular, she wants to highlight the role of solar, wind and hydropower in culture, the economy, science and technologies in the past and the present. She will gather inspiration for her artistic work by visiting innovative production sites for renewable energy sources in Andalusia and northern Portugal, and by analysing historic sources on ancient wind and water systems.

Ani Schulze studied at the Städelschule Contemporary Fine Arts Academy in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, the Glasgow School of Arts, the Düsseldorf Academy of Art, Germany and ‘Free Art’ at the Karlsruhe State Academy of Fine Arts, Germany. Her works have been displayed in a range of individual and group exhibitions, including in the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt, Germany, the Oberhausen Short Film Festival, the Kunstverein in Cologne, Germany and in the Extra City Kunsthal in Antwerp, Belgium.  #VISIT2018
