Mario Pfeifer: Transforming Energy – Transforming the Global Society

Mario Pfeifer (born 1981) will dedicate his VISIT grant to producing a large-scale video installation. His work focuses on the question of how the social, economic and political conditions on our planet affect research and visionary design. How can we use this information to clear the way for a just, sustainable, and peaceful future? To find the answers, he travels to some of the world’s most innovative energy research laboratories, including the model city for a molten salt reactor developed by the American enterprise Transatomic, the research department of electric car manufacturer Tesla and the studio of Chinese architects Jiaqi Sun, Chang Liu and Mingxuan Quin, who have developed a wind farm for the earth’s tropopause. #VISIT2017
